Editorial Policy
Soccer Training Pro publishes original educational content about soccer rules, positions, tactics, youth formats, training and coaching.
Accuracy
We aim to explain soccer accurately and in language that players, parents and grassroots coaches can use.
Rules articles are checked against primary governing-body material whenever possible. The IFAB Laws of the Game are the primary reference for global Laws content.
When U.S. youth, high-school or college rules differ from the general Laws, the article should identify the relevant governing framework.
Sources
We prefer primary sources for:
- Laws of the Game;
- official rule changes;
- competition formats;
- youth-development standards;
- current venue or league facts.
Secondary sources may be used for context, but they should not replace an available primary source for a rule or official requirement.
See Sources & Methodology for more detail.
Coaching and tactics
Soccer tactics are not governed by one universal method. Formation, role and drill articles should distinguish between:
- established terminology;
- common coaching principles;
- examples of how a team might apply them.
We avoid presenting one tactical choice as the only correct way to play.
Originality
Our articles and diagrams are created for Soccer Training Pro.
We do not reproduce another publisher's article, diagram or photograph without the required permission or license.
Experience and attribution
We do not invent:
- coaching qualifications;
- playing careers;
- clients;
- interviews;
- product tests;
- match attendance;
- testimonials;
- first-hand experience.
If an article includes first-hand reporting or a named contributor in the future, that attribution must be accurate and verifiable.
Updating articles
An “Updated” date should represent a meaningful review or change.
Rule pages should be reviewed when a new law cycle introduces a material change to the topic.
Time-sensitive pages, such as stadium or competition guides, should be checked before a new season or whenever major facts change.
Corrections
If a material factual error is confirmed, we should:
- correct the article;
- review any related pages that may repeat the error;
- update the modified date;
- add a correction note when that context would benefit readers.
Readers can report errors through our Corrections page.
