About Soccer Training Pro
Soccer Training Pro is an independent soccer education resource for players, parents and grassroots coaches.
Our goal is to make the game easier to understand and easier to practice. We focus on practical questions: where a player should stand, what a position is responsible for, why a referee makes a decision, and how a training activity connects to a real match problem.
What we publish
Soccer Training Pro covers:
- soccer positions and positional numbers;
- formations and tactics;
- Laws of the Game and common rule questions;
- youth-soccer formats and development concepts;
- passing, possession, finishing and defending drills;
- practice planning and grassroots coaching.
How our guides are written
We aim to separate facts from coaching interpretation.
For rules content, we prefer primary governing-body sources such as The IFAB. When a rule differs by competition or age group, we identify the relevant framework instead of presenting one version as universal.
For training and tactics, we explain the purpose of an activity or role, the decisions players face, and practical ways to coach or practice it.
Who the site is for
Players
Use the position, tactics and training guides to better understand what to do before, during and after receiving the ball.
Parents
Use the rules and youth-soccer guides to understand the game without relying on sideline myths or rules from a different age group.
Coaches
Use the drill and practice-plan library as a starting point, then adapt the activity to your players, numbers, field space and development goals.
Accuracy and updates
Soccer rules change over time. Rule pages are reviewed against current governing-body material and updated when changes affect the explanation.
